Internationally renowned pianist to perform charity concert in Christchurch

Internationally renowned pianist, David Glen Hatch, will be performing a one-off charity concert next week in Christchurch.
Along with nine young pianists, David will be hosting a concert at Innovation Hall in Templeton’s Kirk Road on Thursday 19 June to raise funds for the Canterbury Charity Hospital.
David is visiting New Zealand to perform in Auckland and Wellington and has offered to perform a charity concert while he is in Christchurch. He is also tutoring a Masters Class at Burnside High School.
“We are very grateful for David’s time and generosity and encourage as many people as possible to enjoy his music while raising funds for a great charity,” says Carl Shaw, manager of the Canterbury Charity Hospital.
With more than 280 volunteer surgeons, dentists, clinical and administration staff, the Canterbury Charity Hospital provides free elective day surgery and medical outpatient clinics for the people of Canterbury community who can’t access treatment through the public health system.
The hospital also offers free dentistry services for Work and Income clients.
David Glen Hatch has performed as a soloist and guest artist with symphony orchestras in over 36 countries on five continents, he has had four Grammy nominations and his most recent album Movie Masterpieces was a Grammy nominee for Best Instrumental Soloist.
A highlight of his Christchurch charity concert will be performances by his young team of protégé pianists from the United States who are enjoying the opportunity to experience playing overseas.
The concert starts at 7pm on Thursday 19 June at the Innovation Park Hall, 185 Kirk Road in Templeton with grateful thanks to the Maugers Foundation for providing the venue for free. The cost is $15 for adults or $10 for students. Bookings can be made through www.dashtickets.co.nz (David Hatch Benefit Concert) or with cash at the door.
