Actor Michael Galvin, who plays Dr Chris Warner on Shortland Street, visited the Canterbury Charity Hospital while he was in Christchurch.
Michael spent the day chatting with volunteers and staff after an episode of Shortland Street featured the charity hospital.

Friday 1st February 2013 we were delighted to host a visit by Sir Cliff Richard to the Charity Hospital.
Sir Cliff arrived smiling and generous with his time for everyone- signed autographs and chatted with the group of fans and patients that had gathered at the hospital. He even shared is wealth of knowledge with the fans on photography so that they could take a good photo as a momento of the visit.
